It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Fr. Charles Rwarkatare, who entered eternal rest on August 31, 2026, at Granada Post Acute Nursing Facility in Lynwood, California.
Fr. Charles was born on June 16, 1950, in Bukoba, Tanzania, East Africa. He resided in Anaheim, California, and faithfully served the people of God throughout his ministry. His last pastoral service was at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glendale, California.
Fr. Charles will be remembered for his faith, his service to the Church, and the lives he touched through his ministry and presence.
He is survived by his wife, Gail and their children:
Ajuna, Mwendwa, Byela, Namara
He is also survived by his siblings:
Lister Rwarkatare, brother
Julieth Mbandi, sister
As we mourn the loss of Fr. Charles, we also give thanks to God for his life, his ministry, and the many ways he served Christ and His people.
Please keep Fr. Charles’s family, loved ones, and all who knew and served alongside him in your prayers during this time of sorrow.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
