The Lambeth Conference, a meeting of bishops of the Anglican Communion, convenes once every ten years. The 2008 meeting at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England, concluded on August 3.
All four of the Bishops of Los Angeles were present at the meeting.

Episcopal Life Weekly Bulletin Inserts
Episcopal Life Weekly's series of bulletin inserts in June and July of 2008 focused on the history and work of the Lambeth Conference in a nine-part series. An additional pair of inserts includes meditations on the "I Am" passages in the Gospel of John, which are the chapters that were studied at Lambeth by the bishops and their spouses. The meditations were written by the Very Rev. Michael Battle, canon theologian of the Dicoese of Los Angeles and a Lambeth chaplain.
