Director of Lower Elementary, who will be responsible for direct supervision of kindergarten through grade two, to begin July 1, 2008. Duties and responsibilities will include curriculum development; supervision of instruction; enrollment management (admissions, retention); administration, analysis of standardized testing; teacher support, evaluation; professional development, training; student guidance, decorum; participation on a collaborative administrative team. Work Hours are M-F, 8 am - 5 pm, 40 hours a week. The candidate must have at least 12 ECE Units, and preferable AA/BA degree in early childhood education. The candidate must be open to learn NAEYC guidelines, have great work ethic, demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity, and be committed to the idea of personal and professional growth. This position also manages payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and has involvement in the development of the annual budget. The qualified applicant must have a degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field and three years of experience in general fund accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position requires knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals, practices and procedures, and working knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel), accounting software and the Internet.
