Kaleidoscope Bible Study
Leaders’ Training
Building Inclusive Community Around Holy Scriptures
Imagine there are many competent Bible-study group leaders in your church. Now you can organize Bible-study groups that meet in the church, in homes, committee meetings, youth gatherings, nursing homes and local cafés and offices during lunch hours, etc. Every newcomer is immediately invited to join one of the Bible Study groups, and at these gatherings, newcomers are invited immediately to listen to Scriptures and share their reflections. Within the space of one hour, the newcomers feel welcome and included.
The Kaleidoscope Bible Study process, used regularly by the Kaleidoscope Institute, is one of the Bible-study processes that can be taught within a very short time (one day). Church members with minimal communication skills can become competent in leading such a process for a group of 8–12 participants.
In this one-day training, a leader will
- Practice the Bible Study process
- Learn to do basic research on the text being studied
- Learn how to arrive at appropriate reflection questions for the study
- Find out how to modify the process for different group settings
